The Monongalia County Planning Office provides clients various Geographic Information Systems (GIS) based digital mapping products and services. This section presents maps of interest for various planning projects.

GIS is an exceptionally powerful tool that enables users to display and analyze spatial information, i.e., parcels, roads, topography, water bodies, addressing, census data, crime statistics, bus routing, emergency response, public health, etc. GIS applications are unlimited and significantly enhance a community’s ability to make practical decisions and work more efficiently. The Monongalia County Planning Office is committed to working with community stakeholders to build a comprehensive GIS network within our community.

The maps provided here are PDF or JPEG image to make them fully accessible to our residents and clients. We will update this area frequently with maps that depict various spatial data including planning district boundaries, existing land use, topography, aerial photography, etc.

You will need to scroll to the bottom of both the side bar and the Legend tab in order to activate the Zoning Layer. This layer will initially be gray-ed out. To ungray, please take the zoom in icon (the magnifying glass with a + sign) and make a box with your mouse over the area just north of Morgantown.
